Kay  Rasmus  Nielsen    (1886 —  1957)

Kay Rasmus was born in Copenhagen the youngest of those artists working during the Golden Age of British book illustration. Influenced by Beardsley and Japanese woodcuts, his style is uniquely his own, full of exquisite detail and lavish colour. Following stage and costume design work in Copenhagen he settled in California, working for Walt Disney on sections of Fantasia. He died in obscurity.
