Frances  Isabelle  Brundage    (1854 —  1937)

A prolific and popular American illustrator, specialising in sentimental drawings of large-eyed children. Produced postcards and valentines for Raphael Tuck, illustrated Tennyson, Louisa May Alcott and in 1928 The Tale of Peter Rabbit, which may have been one of the many pirated versions published in the United States.
