falcon. The animals (there always must be two of them, one
would be so mundane) are fairly large in relation to the bird.
Eric Pape gives us a wonderfully bizarre bird. Not
flightworthy, perhaps, but stimulating to the imagination.
Arthur Szyk gives us the most colorful and intricate
Roc. Szyk seems to have based his design on the turkey, a large bird
in its own right.
